I wrote my Sentor and it shows they don't get it.

I had e-mailed  a few Senators and congressman about all the taxes and climate bills coming out of D.C. and that if they don't stop we will at the polles.

Dear Mr. Brough:

Thank you for sharing your views about clean energy legislation.

Effective clean energy legislation will reduce climate pollution and promote the production of renewable energy—but most importantly it will ensure the creation of new clean energy jobs and industries. Clean energy legislation must also ensure the competitiveness of domestic manufacturers and protect consumers by keeping utility rates affordable. We must work to reduce our dependence on foreign oil by making America a global leader in clean energy manufacturing.

For this reason, I recently announced legislation called the Investments for Manufacturing Progress and Clean Technology (IMPACT) Act. This legislation, which was included in the House energy bill, would support manufacturers' transition to the clean energy economy and ensure clean energy jobs are created here in the U.S. This legislation would create a revolving loan fund for small and medium size manufacturers to retool and expand facilities to produce clean energy technology and energy efficient products. It is estimated this measure will create hundreds of thousands of new jobs.

I appreciate hearing your input on this important topic. As clean energy legislation continues to be discussed in Congress, I will work to ensure that an unfair burden is not placed on Ohio families and businesses. I will only support legislation that creates new jobs and economic opportunities across Ohio.

Thank you again for getting in touch with me.

Sincerely,

Sherrod Brown
United States Senator

My reply to his e-mail:

United States Senator Sherrod Brown,

Thank you for replying to me. I see that you wrote that you announced legislation called the Investments for Manufacturing Progress and Clean Technology (IMPACT) Act. We do not need another law shifting the money and the power from D.C.

We have the programs already on the books to take care of our air, water and land. If a foreign car company comes in to the U.S.A., they have to upgrade their emissions system to American standards. Since California has a different emission system standard than the rest of America, any person or foreign car company has to compile with yet another standard. America's water ways and drinking water is better than 90% or more than the rest of the worlds' water. We've already cut our pollution in this country due to legislation.

Do you know that the jet stream also moves pollution from the other countries to us? China and other countries that are now the producers of the world are not signing any of these acts that you and others in Congress think we need. The jet stream travels from China to the U.S.A. carrying the pollution not just from them, but from others along the way. We can cut our output and still have the same levels if the rest of the world produces more.

Green energy only works when the sun shines, wind blows, and the mercury flows. We can use nuclear power but Congress will not allow us to build new facilities.

The world is cooling off and you and your kind still blame the businesses that pay your salaries. If you pass cap and trade or government health care, then you will be on the unemployment line with the rest of the ones that voted for those bills and the people you helped put out of work.

It is all unfair not just to the families in Ohio but also around the country. Stop thinking that your helping.   You can only hurt the people of this great country with the legislation you are trying to pass.

The free market system can and will fix what the world needs. All you have to do is let it run. I also saw that Congress and the Senate passed the extension of the tax break for first time home buyers.   Each time Congress passes these laws or extends them, it shows that low taxes and less government always works.

See you at the voting booth,

Ron Brough American Citizen
