Across the seas
in the land of old
When the Romans
still had control
It came to pass
That they proclaimed
That all had to return
To were their father’s came
All were doing as they were told
Not knowing the sights
That they would behold
Except one woman
and just one man
Now the man
loved his woman
And the woman
Cherished her man
But the child she carried
came with a holy plan.
They traveled by day
they traveled by night
till they reached that holy site
In a manger by candle light
The savior was born this night
The Angles sang with holy delight
The shepherds came to witness the sight
As the wise men bowed in the child’s light
With three gifts, not one the same
They proclaimed
Jesus the Holy King
Which we celebrate still today
To remember our Savior’s day
we come together
in a special way
Sing praises of
his name and telling the story
of the day he came
To take our sins away
So as we celebrate Christmas day
Remember the first gift that was given away
Was the gift of life that saves.
